About this experience
Nourish Your Body, Mind & Spirit
The Corner Wellness Studio and Island Stoneware invite you to join us for an afternoon retreat of yoga and pottery making.
We will begin at the Linkletter Community Centre with a 60-minute Mindful practice led by Karen Hachey of the Corner Wellness Studio. After yoga, we will enjoy a light snack before traveling to Island Stoneware for a 2-hour pottery making experience
The Yoga Experience
This light-hearted, slow sequence will focus on awakening the Sacral chakra, encouraging creativity, exploration and play. Through movement and breath we will open our hearts, balance our nervous system and prepare ourselves for the mindful practice of working with clay.
The Pottery Experience
Pottery making is a slow and thoughtful process. Drawing on your creativity and setting aside the inner critic and need to be perfect, you will make either 12 ornaments to hang on a Christmas tree or a large, round serving platter. You will hand-build and design each item you make from slab clay, like rolling and cutting out cookie dough. As you make, you will be guided and supported by Jamie and Elsa from Island Stoneware.
At the end of the session, you will leave your work of art with us to be professionally glazed with food-safe glazes and fired in our electric kilns.
Your finished pieces will be ready approximately 3 weeks after your session for pick up.
